Barbara Hakala
My name is Barbara Hakala. In 2001, I was working for a major airline when September 11th happened. The following months brought much uncertainty on whether or not I would be able to keep my job because of all the cuts in personnel. Being a military spouse afforded me many opportunities to become acquainted with “change”, so I started exploring options to find a true skill that I could not only call my own, but take with me if we needed to move again. In 2002, I discovered Massage Therapy. From the very first massage I gave to a classmate, I knew I had found my purpose in life. I graduated from the Montgomery School of Bodywork and Massage in 2003, and became a member of Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals. Taking advantage of having a Finnish last name, I developed Hakalistics Healing Hands. I specialize in Swedish, Maternity, Hot Stone, Deep Tissue, and Reflexology. I also offer Biofreeze treatments, and some Spa Therapy, such as facials, body wraps, salt glows, and waxing. I truly love massage therapy, and do not consider it work; as you will see once I get my hands on you.
